- loss of volume
Our expert team of injectors can help you achieve a more youthful appearance with our range of antiwrinkle injections. Anti-wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections are a popular cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face.
Symptoms of ageing that anti-wrinkle injections can improve include:
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Forehead wrinkles
The injections work by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles, resulting in smoother, more youthful-looking skin. The effects can last up to several months, and the treatment is minimally invasive with minimal downtime.
Our experienced dermatologists perform anti-wrinkle injections using the highest quality products and the latest techniques. Before treatment, a consultation is conducted to assess each patient’s individual needs and create a personalised treatment plan. The injections are administered via a fine needle and typically take only a few minutes to complete. Side effects are minimal, with some patients experiencing mild swelling or bruising at the injection site.
Cancer Screenings
Early detection of skin cancer is crucial for successful treatment. Skin cancer screenings are performed by dermatologists to identify any suspicious moles or growths that could be cancerous. This involves a full-body examination of the skin, including areas that are not typically exposed to the sun.
Individuals with a higher risk of developing skin cancer, such as those with a family history or who have had extensive sun exposure, should have regular screenings.
Symptoms that may indicate the presence of skin cancer include changes in the size, shape, or colour of a mole, the appearance of new growth, or the development of a sore that does not heal.
Treatment for skin cancer varies depending on the type and stage of the cancer but may include surgical removal, radiation therapy or topical chemotherapy.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a popular cosmetic treatment for exfoliating and rejuvenating skin. Symptoms that can be treated with chemical peels include:
- fine lines
- wrinkles
- acne
- hyperpigmentation
Our team of specialist dermatologists offers a range of chemical peels tailored to your skin type and concerns. These treatments work by removing the top layers of skin, promoting cell turnover and stimulating collagen production.
Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses extreme cold to freeze and destroy abnormal or damaged tissue. Symptoms that can be treated with cryotherapy include warts, skin tags and certain types of skin cancer.
At our Buckinghamshire Dermatology Clinic, our dermatologists use cryotherapy to treat various skin conditions. The procedure is typically quick and painless and may require multiple sessions depending on the severity of the condition.
Cyst Treatments
Cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can form beneath the skin. Symptoms of cysts include small bumps or lumps that are often painless but can become infected or inflamed.
At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, our specialist dermatologists can diagnose and treat cysts using pain-free techniques, including drainage, injection or surgical removal.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are a cosmetic treatment that can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of ageing. These fillers are injected into the skin and can help restore volume and smoothness to the face.
At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, dermal fillers are performed by specialists who will carefully assess your skin and determine the most appropriate type of filler for your specific needs.
Dermatitis
Dermatitis is a skin condition that can cause redness, itching, and inflammation. Other symptoms may include rash, blisters, or dry, scaly patches of skin.
Treatment for dermatitis may involve the use of topical creams or ointments, as well as identifying and avoiding triggers that can exacerbate the condition.
Dermatitis can be treated by our Buckinghamshire dermatology specialists, who will carefully assess your skin and determine the best treatment approach for your specific condition.
Dry Skin
Dry skin is a common condition that can cause itching, flaking and cracking of the skin. Symptoms may include rough or scaly patches of skin or skin that feel tight or uncomfortable.

Eczema

Symptoms include:
- Redness, charring and blistered skin.
- Severe pain or numbness in the burnt area.
- Inflammation and swelling.
For extensive burns, immediate medical attention is vital to prevent further complications. Common treatments include:
- Rapid cooling of the affected area with water or sterile dressings.
- Intravenous (IV) fluids to prevent dehydration and maintain blood pressure.
- Cleaning and removal of dead tissue to prevent infection.
- Application of dressings or skin grafts.
- Pain management medications to alleviate discomfort.
- Rehabilitation therapies to restore mobility and function.
Facials
Facials are an essential part of any comprehensive skincare routine, offering numerous benefits to patients. Facials can help unclog pores, remove dead skin cells and stimulate blood flow, leaving the skin looking refreshed and rejuvenated.
At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, we understand that every patient’s skin is unique and requires individualised care. That is why we offer personalised facials tailored to each patient’s specific needs. Our skilled dermatologists use high-quality skincare products that are specially formulated to address different skin concerns, such as dryness, acne, and hyperpigmentation.
Our facials can also help combat ageing signs, such as fine lines and wrinkles. By promoting collagen production, our facials can help firm and plump the skin, leaving it more youthful and radiant.
During your facial, our specialists will first analyse your skin to identify any areas of concern. They will then cleanse and exfoliate the skin before applying a customised treatment mask. They may also use gentle massage techniques to promote circulation and relaxation. After your facial, you will leave our clinic feeling refreshed and rejuvenated with brighter, more hydrated, smoother skin.
Facial Thread Veins
Facial thread veins, also known as spider veins or broken capillaries, are small, thin blood vessels that appear just beneath the skin’s surface. These veins can give the skin a reddish or bluish appearance and can be particularly noticeable on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. Although they are not harmful, facial thread veins can be a source of self-consciousness for some people, especially when they become more visible as they age.
At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, we offer a range of treatments for facial thread veins to help our patients achieve a smoother, more even complexion. One of the most effective treatments for facial thread veins is laser therapy. This treatment uses a specialised laser to heat the blood vessels, causing them to collapse and eventually be absorbed by the body. Sclerotherapy is another option, which involves injecting a solution into the veins to close them off.
Our experienced dermatologists will evaluate your individual condition and recommend the most suitable treatment plan to achieve optimal results. With our state-of-the-art equipment and personalised approach, you can trust us to help you achieve the flawless, youthful-looking skin you desire.
Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation is a prevalent skin condition that causes patches or areas of the skin to become darker than the surrounding skin. Discolouration can occur for various reasons, including sun exposure, hormonal changes and genetics. The excess production of melanin, the pigment that gives colour to the skin, leads to the appearance of dark spots or patches on the skin.
At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, we offer various treatments to reduce hyperpigmentation and even out skin tone. Treatment options include topical creams containing ingredients like hydroquinone or kojic acid, which can help to lighten the skin. Chemical peels involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which exfoliates the surface and reduces hyperpigmentation. Laser therapy is another option, which involves using a specialised laser to target and break down the excess melanin in the affected area.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing is a popular cosmetic treatment that aims to improve the overall texture and appearance of the skin. It is a non-invasive procedure that uses laser technology to carefully remove the outer layer of damaged skin cells, which helps to stimulate the growth of new, healthy skin cells. The treatment effectively reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, age spots and other skin imperfections, leaving the skin looking smoother, younger and more radiant.
At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare, we use advanced laser technology to ensure that the procedure is safe, precise and highly effective. Our team of skilled dermatologists and aestheticians will carefully assess your skin type and condition to determine the best laser skin resurfacing treatment for your individual needs. The procedure typically takes around 30-60 minutes, and the results can be seen immediately. Some patients may experience mild redness or swelling after the treatment, but this usually subsides within a few days.
Micro needling
Micro-needling is a popular and minimally invasive procedure that can help improve the appearance of various skin concerns. During the treatment, a small device with fine needles creates tiny micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural healing process, promoting collagen and elastin production and improving the overall texture and appearance of the skin. The procedure can also help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars and other skin imperfections.
At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, our experienced dermatologists use the latest micro-needling technology to ensure optimal results. This includes using a handheld device that allows for precise control and customisation of the treatment. The procedure is typically well-tolerated by patients, and downtime is minimal, with most people able to resume their regular activities the same day.
Mole Checks
Mole checks are essential to preventative care to detect the early signs of skin cancer. At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, our dermatologists perform thorough skin examinations to identify suspicious moles or other skin lesions that may indicate skin cancer.
Our experienced dermatologists use state-of-the-art imaging technology, such as dermoscopy, to perform mole checks. Dermoscopy allows for a detailed examination of moles and other skin lesions, allowing dermatologists to identify any unusual characteristics, such as irregular shape or colour, which may indicate skin cancer. If necessary, we may biopsy the mole or lesion for further analysis.
Early detection is crucial in effectively treating skin cancer, and regular mole checks can significantly increase the chances of detecting any abnormalities in the skin early. Our dermatologists can provide a diagnosis and develop a personalised treatment plan if a mole or lesion is found to be cancerous or pre-cancerous.
Paediatrics
The Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Plastic, Burns and Dermatology specialists cater to patients of all ages. However, patients under 18 (paediatric patients) may require treatment from clinicians specialising in paediatric care. Rest assured, our dedicated team is equipped with the necessary tools and training to support the unique healthcare needs of younger patients.
Pressure Sores
The heels, elbows, hips, and tailbone are among the bony areas of the body where pressure ulcers typically develop.
Symptoms may include:
- Skin discolorations that do not go away when touched are typically red on white skin and purple or blue on black or brown skin.
- A warm, spongy, or hard spot on the skin that hurts or itches in the affected area.
Though they occasionally emerge over a few hours, pressure ulcers typically develop over time and could develop into an open wound or blister. If left untreated, the ulcers may worsen, become infected and eventually spread deeper beneath the skin.
Treatment for pressure sores depends on their severity. If you are suffering with pressure sores, it’s crucial to shift positions and move around frequently to relieve pressure on existing ulcers and prevent the formation of new ones. Additional therapies may be recommended including:
- Cushions and mattresses designed to shield and aid in the healing process.
- Antibiotic topical creams and ointment.
- Cleaning of infected ulcers.
Surgery may be required to clean and seal severe pressure ulcers.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a common chronic skin disease that affects millions of people worldwide. It is caused by a rapid buildup of skin cells that form thick, scaly, and red patches on the skin. The condition can be uncomfortable and itchy and can also affect the quality of life for those who suffer from it. At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, our experienced dermatologists can provide effective treatment options for psoriasis.
The first step in treating psoriasis is to diagnose the condition properly. Our dermatologists can examine the affected skin and take a medical history to determine the best course of treatment. There is no cure for psoriasis, but many treatments are available that can help manage the symptoms and improve the appearance of the skin.
Treatment options for psoriasis can include topical creams, oral medications, and lifestyle changes. Topical creams and ointments can help to reduce inflammation and itching. Oral medications may be prescribed for more severe cases of psoriasis. In addition to medication, lifestyle changes such as stress reduction, healthy eating, and exercise can also help manage psoriasis symptoms. Our dermatologists will work with each patient to develop a personalised treatment plan to meet their individual needs.
Rosacea
Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. The condition is characterised by redness, flushing and visible blood vessels on the face. In some cases, it can also cause pimples and bumps on the skin. The exact cause of rosacea is unknown, but it is thought to be related to a combination of genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors.
Treatment for rosacea is tailored to the individual and may include topical creams, oral medications and lifestyle changes.
At Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare Dermatology Clinic, our experienced dermatologists can provide a comprehensive evaluation to determine the best treatment plan for each patient. Topical treatments such as antibiotics and anti-inflammatory creams are often prescribed to help control rosacea symptoms.
Oral medications such as antibiotics, retinoids and immune suppressants may be necessary for more severe cases. In addition, lifestyle changes such as avoiding triggers such as spicy foods and alcohol, wearing sunscreen, and avoiding harsh skincare products can also help to manage the condition.
Serious Injury & Disfigurement
Serious injuries that result in disfigurement can impact patients’ physical and emotional well-being, and can arise from accidents, traumatic events or medical conditions.
Serious injuries, including disfigurement, may encompass:
- Visible deformities.
- Loss of limbs or significant mobility impairment.
- Chronic pain.
- Psychological distress.
Treatment will vary depending on severity of the condition, and may involve:
- Surgical intervention.
- Physical therapy.
- Psychological counselling.
- Assistive devices or prosthetics.
Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and can develop in any part of the body. It is often caused by exposure to UV radiation from the sun or tanning beds, as well as other environmental factors. The most common types of skin cancer include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Early detection and treatment are crucial for successful treatment outcomes.
Our experienced Buckinghamshire dermatologists use various techniques to detect and treat skin cancer, including mole mapping, biopsies, and excisions. We also offer specialised treatments, such as Mohs surgery, a precise and effective technique for removing skin cancer while preserving healthy tissue.
Our specialists are dedicated to providing comprehensive care to our patients, from diagnosis to treatment to follow-up care. We also offer support and guidance to help our patients maintain healthy skin and reduce their risk of developing skin cancer in the future.
Tear Trough Treatment
Tear trough treatment is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that aims to reduce the appearance of dark circles, hollows and bags under the eyes. These issues are caused by a loss of volume and thinning of the skin around the eye area, making a person appear tired or older than they are.
Our specialists use injectable dermal fillers to smooth out the area under the eyes and restore lost volume. The treatment is quick and virtually painless, with results lasting up to a year.
Varicose Veins
Varicose veins are a common condition that occurs when the veins become enlarged and twisted, often appearing blue or dark purple in colour. They can cause discomfort, swelling and aching in the legs and can also be a cosmetic concern for some people.
Our specialists offer a range of treatments for varicose veins, including:
- Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT): a minimally invasive procedure that uses laser energy to heat and close off the affected vein.
- Sclerotherapy: a non-surgical injection therapy that involves injecting a solution into the vein, causing it to shrink and eventually disappear.
- Vein Stripping: a surgical procedure that involves removing the affected vein through small incisions in the skin.
Our specialists will assess each patient individually and recommend the most appropriate treatment based on the severity of the condition and the patient’s individual needs.

Plastic Surgery, Burns and Dermatology Frequently Asked Questions
Below you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions we hear from patients. However, if you need further clarification or want to discuss your skin conditions with our specialists, tap the button below, and we’ll aim to respond as soon as possible!
What is a consultant dermatologist?
Our consultant dermatologists in Buckinghamshire are medical doctors who specialise in diagnosing and treating skin conditions. They have completed extensive medical training and are recognised as experts in their field.
Why would I be referred to a Plastic Surgeon?
Plastic surgery can be used to repair: abnormalities that have existed from birth, such as a cleft lip and palate, webbed fingers, and birthmarks. Other conditions you would see a Plastic Surgeon may include skin cancer and areas damaged by the removal of cancerous tissue, such as from the face or breast, extensive burns or other serious injuries.
What should I expect during skin surgery?
During skin surgery, you can expect to be given local anaesthesia to numb the treated area. The surgeon will then make incisions in the skin and remove any necessary tissue. The procedure may involve the use of lasers, scalpels or other specialized tools, depending on the specific type of surgery being performed.
After the surgery, you may experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising. Your surgeon will provide detailed post-operative instructions to help manage discomfort and promote proper healing. It’s important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth recovery.
Does acne go away naturally?
Acne is a common skin condition that affects people of all ages. While some cases of acne may improve on their own over time, others may require treatment to help manage symptoms and prevent scarring. The severity of acne can vary widely, and treatment options may include topical medications, oral medications, or a combination of both. Our dermatology clinic in Buckinghamshire offers a range of acne treatments tailored to your unique needs to achieve clearer, healthier skin.
How can I tell if a mole is suspicious?
Moles are common skin growths that are usually harmless. However, some moles may be a sign of skin cancer, so monitoring them for any changes or signs of irregularity is important. The ABCDE rule is a helpful guide for identifying suspicious moles. Look for asymmetry, irregular borders, uneven colour, a diameter larger than a pencil eraser and evolving shape or size. If you notice any of these warning signs, it’s important to schedule a mole check with one of our experienced dermatologists in Buckinghamshire.
How much does filler cost in Buckinghamshire?
The cost of dermal filler treatments can vary depending on the type of filler used, the amount needed and the location of the treatment area. Our dermatology clinic in Buckinghamshire offers a range of dermal filler options, each with unique benefits and competitive price points. During your consultation, our expert team will work with you to create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific goals and budget.
What is the best care for your skin?
The best skin care depends on your skin type and concerns. However, there are some general tips that can help keep your skin healthy and vibrant. These include wearing sunscreen daily, staying hydrated, sleeping well and avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. Our dermatology clinic in Buckinghamshire offers a range of medical-grade skincare products and treatments that can help enhance your natural beauty and improve the overall health of your skin.
