Policy Statement

Buckinghamshire Healthcare Projects Limited (BHPL), the wholly owned subsidiary of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) welcomes private patients and uses the income generated for the benefit of all patients and services within the Trust.

BPHC follows wherever possible the digital terms and conditions outlined in the Buckinghamshire NHS Trust Information Governance Policy (BHT Pol 051).

Purpose

The objective of this policy is to ensure there is a robust governance framework for information management pertaining to www.bphc.co.uk. This policy will outline the website’s intention to manage information while preserving the confidentiality, integrity, security and accessibility of data and processing systems.

Scope

This policy applies to all digital data and information systems pertaining to www.bphc.co.uk and associated information systems, networks, applications and staff employed or working on behalf of Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare.

Individual Rights

Individuals have the right to be informed about the collection and use of their data, which is a key transparency requirement under GDPR. This is fulfilled by the provision of our processing and privacy notices which are available on our website.

Website Terms and Conditions

Every effort is taken to ensure that the information contained in the website is both accurate and complete. BPHC cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to the website, or the sites to which it may link. BPHC will accept no responsibility for any loss, disruption or damage arising from the lack of access to information or broken links.

Accessibility Statement

A key priority of BHPC is that as many patients are able to access and use the website as possible. In order for this to happen, the website has a number of accessibility options to enable ease of navigation. The user should be able to:

  • translate the page to a selected language (a range of 6)
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • simplify and/or customise site options to suit your needs so that the screen displays only the main text
  • zoom in up to 300% without problems
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader and be able to customise voice speed
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

Website Privacy and Data Security

The website does not store or capture personal information (other than where clearly stated on referral or submission forms) but does utilise various cookies to help measure traffic and make improvements to the website.

The website will only record personal information such as name, address, hospital number, NHS number or email address if volunteered to BPHC by the user (for example through the ‘Make an Enquiry’ form). Such information shall be treated as private and confidential.

The website is supported by Wufoo and Survey Monkey. Both platform privacy policies can be accessed via links on the website. Both Wufoo and Survey Monkey store data in the USA and Wufoo uses Google Analytics trackers which feedback the areas of the website that have been accessed. The user has the has the option to deny and disable these if they would like to.

Cancellation

We ask that, wherever possible, you give as much notice as possible of the requirement to cancel your appointment. If you do not cancel and therefore fail to arrive for your appointment, you may still be charged a fee. Likewise, if you cancel within 24 hours of an appointment then this may incur a fee from the Clinician. This would be entirely dependent on the clinician’s own cancellation policies; you would not be charged by Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare for this.

Complaints Procedure

Buckinghamshire Private Healthcare follows Buckinghamshire NHS Trust’s complaints policies and procedures. We always welcome any comment or complaint and ask that you write directly to the Private Patient Team: z.jackson4@nhs.net

A member of the Private Patient team will be pleased to speak to with you and, if needed, can begin the process of investigating the issue on your behalf.

COVID Guidelines

The website will detail, within Terms and Conditions, the current COVID-19 guidance followed by Buckinghamshire NHS Trust and, therefore followed by BPHC.
